Instituto Natura, Avon, and Quiddity secure 1st and 3rd place in ESOMAR Awards 2026 Categories with the Awareness Index on Violence Against Women

The tool, which measures the evolution of Brazilian and other Latin American societies regarding their perception, knowledge, and response to violence against women, took the “gold” trophy in the Regional Social Impact Research category and the “bronze” in the Global category; the award is one of the most prestigious in the sector.

Instituto Natura, Avon, and Quiddity received two “Best Social Impact Research” awards at the ESOMAR Awards 2026 this Wednesday, September 2nd. The institutions ranked first in the “Regional (Latin America)” subcategory and third in the “Global” category. This recognition honors the Awareness Index on Violence Against Women, a permanent tool created by Instituto Natura and Avon, in partnership with Quiddity, to measure and monitor society’s level of perception, knowledge, and reaction concerning this issue. The winners were announced at an awards ceremony in Spain.

Implemented in 2025 across six Latin American countries where Instituto Natura and Avon operate (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru), the Index combines three dimensions: perception, focusing on what society notices about violence against women; cognition, addressing what society knows about the subject; and attitude, assessing how society reacts to concrete cases.

The rationale underpinning this tool is that to transform a reality, one must first understand it. In practice, the Awareness Index on Violence Against Women serves to guide the design of more efficient public policies—Instituto Natura provides technical support to states and municipalities—and to develop more effective awareness-raising initiatives.

The tool is updated annually. In 2025 and 2026, the awareness campaigns “Sim, É Violência. Chame Pelo Nome” (“Yes, It Is Violence. Call It By Its Name”) and “Somos Maiores que a Violência” (“We Are Greater Than Violence”), launched by Avon and Instituto Natura, were developed to educate the population on how to identify non-physical violence against women and how to act when faced with these situations—two social bottlenecks identified by the Awareness Index.

For Letícia Passini, Executive of Communication and Business Relations for Instituto Natura Latin America, ending violence against women is a responsibility that must be embraced by all of society. This involves driving behavioral changes and strengthening both awareness initiatives and the public policies that protect and guide those in need of these services.

“We believe that quality information is a powerful tool for this transformation. Being recognized by the ESOMAR Awards 2026 strengthens our work in generating evidence to guide public policies, create more efficient awareness actions, and mobilize society around this issue,” states Letícia.

Quiddity’s study surveyed over 10,000 individuals across the Latin American region. “The scale and methodological rigor allow us to collect high-quality data to generate this index and give us confidence in the work we can do to disseminate the results and drive awareness,” says Verónica Rodríguez Celín, Regional Director at Quiddity.

“Taking the podium in both ESOMAR Awards categories confirms our commitment to rigorous investigation that delivers real impact and drives social transformation,” says Daniel Finder, President of Quiddity.
